FAQs

Yes, you can be contacted on your mobile phone if you have global roaming activated. The signal comes in and out of range at certain locations in the Island chain. We recommend downloading WhatsApp prior to departing home.

We suggest two boards per person, though you can bring as many as you want.  We are of the opinion that you can never have too many boards.

If you’re bringing two boards, the normal board you ride at home is fine, paired with perhaps a slightly larger step-up for the days with a bit more juice in ’em.

If you’re bringing three boards over and want to be covered for all eventualities, some kind of fish or funboard is good to have on hand for the small days.

Remember to bring an extra leggie and a cloth cover to protect your board in the boats, and a block or two of tropical surf wax never goes astray.

YES!  The welfare of our guests is our number one priority and travel insurance is mandatory. The quality and reliability of travel insurance providers varies greatly.

Make sure you bring a hard copy of your Travel Insurance documentation with you on your trip.

  • A passport with at least six months of validity remaining.
  • 2 x COLOUR photocopies of your passport (photo page).
  • Airline tickets. Remember to have your return ticket (or photocopy) on hand as you enter Indonesia, as evidence of your intention not to overstay.
  • Travel insurance information.
  • Itinerary and other travel documents.
  • In case you misplace any vital documents you should also carry a back-up photocopy of your passport, I.D, and airline ticket with you at all times. It doesn’t hurt to leave another copy at home as well.
  • proof of COVID Vaccination (certificates)

Yes, all travellers are required to obtain a Visa permission to enter in Indonesia.

Included in your package are three meals every day and unlimited tea, barista made coffee and drinking water.

All meals will be served in the main dining area but you always have the option to enjoy a private meal at your bungalow.

A few beers after the day’s surfing and then dinner is usually served around 7/7.30. Alcohol is not included but can be purchased and we will record an individual tally for the duration of the trip.

Guests should bring enough cash with them to fix up their drinks tab at the end of the stay.

Should you need to work while you’re away we recommend you bring your own laptop or tablet. If you don’t really need to do the work email thing then why not give yourself a digital detox and leave the work-oriented devices at home? It’ll all be waiting for you when you get back.

We have the best WiFi in the Region. Access is available throughout the Resort and we do not charge. Staff will issue you with a password upon arrival.

We accept US, Aust and Rupiah at the Resort. On average guests spend between AU$3-500.

Guests can bring alcohol which can be consumed in their bungalow, but most don’t, given weight restrictions on luggage, and the comprehensively stocked bar that awaits them at the lodge. One litre is permitted under Indonesian law.

Yes, with prior notification (please advise at the time of booking) we can accommodate most dietary requests.

We recommend contacting your GP for medical advice. This is a personal choice for guests. Malaria is present in the region and we take it seriously.

The best policy is to avoid getting bitten by mosquitoes, and so regardless of your decision around medication, we strongly urge guests to wear repellent at dawn and dusk. To date, we’ve had no reported cases of guests contracting malaria

When venturing to any remote region, most travellers will usually update their tetanus and hepatitis shots.

Should you be taking any prescription medication, please ensure you bring the necessary paperwork that goes with it in case of an emergency.

For more travel health-related information, please consult your doctor.

There is a maximum of 12 surfers staying at the resort at any one time unless you are part of a group booking the resort exclusively.  Our aim is to spend as many of our surf sessions as possible with just the people staying at the resort.

This is not always possible, and indeed the Telos has become better known lately, but there are plenty of waves in this area, and due to our extensive experience we know how to be in the right place at the right time.

While it’s inevitable that we’ll come across other surfers, rest assured you will get plenty of waves.
