Guests stay in large luxury beachfront bungalow accommodations with large balconies overlooking our premier surf break “Monkeys”. Each bungalow has ceiling fans for a nice natural breeze while you sleep at night but also air conditioning when you need that extra comfort. Furnished inside with a comfortable lounge and dining area and outside with chairs made for lounging around on the deck watching the sunrise over the bay whilst you survey the surf.
The ensuite bathroom provides the creature comforts you want from home allowing a nice hot shower at the end of each day
For families, the bungalows can be re-configured to easily accommodate up to 4 children along with two parents or there is the opulent 2 story house available on special request
The newly built Monkeys Resort is a luxury Telo Islands’ surf resort in Sumatra Indonesia providing better access to premier Telo island waves than ever before. Now you can access the wave Monkeys straight from your Bungalow by boat. Gone are the days spent sitting all day in a boat. Have a surf, head back for breakfast, take a rest and then head out again. It’s the easiest days of surfing you’ll ever have.
This is not just a Telo island surf camp but a luxuriously appointed Telo Island resort with your own private well-appointed air-conditioned villa with ensuite bathroom. All boat transfers to waves are included as well as accommodation, three meals, snacks and water each day. Everything is looked after for you, so all you have to do is think about that next turn!

Accessing the waves each day has never been more comfortable or faster on one of our resort boats.
Our kitchen is run by our loyal and much loved and respected cook, Natalia. She and her team prepare delicious meals that will keep you well-fueled for the day’s surfing and replenished and re-energised to do it all again the next day. The cuisine is a combination of local Indonesian culinary delights with some of the best Western-style meals
The lounge and dining area in the resort allows you to join and mingle with other guests, chill out in a corner with a book, enjoy a game of table tennis or purchase a beer or cocktail from our well-stocked bar.
You can expect to wake up to a barista-made coffee and an array of breakfast options from Western-style dishes to cereals and fresh tropical fruits.
Lunch and dinner are from our set menu offering both local and Western-inspired cuisine.

Taking you to the waves
Throughout your trip, you will become very familiar with our speedboat, Monkeys Zero, as she gets you to and from the breaks each day (No walking on reefs required). We can now transfer our guests from Padang to the Resort on a luxury 45ft Cabin Cruiser. This air-conditioned beauty will transfer you from Padang to the Resort in style and comfort. With options to sleep in one of our cabin beds or out on deck under the stars, the overnight trip is arguably the most comfortable journey available from Padang to the Telos.
because we are more than a surf spot
The main attraction of Monkeys Resort is the great surfing you can do in the Telo Islands region. But there are many more activities for those after the surf or the non-surfers. There is great snorkelling around the reef with some amazing sea life to be seen on the clear days or you could take out one of the stand up paddle boards for a calm flat water spin.
